How to create a Bitcoin mining app?

Bhai log, I want to build a simple Bitcoin mining app (Android + maybe web version). Idea is users install the app, it mines BTC in background using phone CPU/GPU, and they can withdraw when balance reaches some amount.
Is this even possible in 2026? Any real working method or open-source code I can start with? Or is it completely waste of time now?
Budget is low, just a side project. Looking for honest advice + any sample code. Thanks!

Bro, phone pe Bitcoin mining? Almost zero chance of making anything meaningful.
Real Bitcoin mining needs ASICs (special hardware). Mobile CPU/GPU is way too weak. Even if you run it 24 hours, you will get like 0.00000001 BTC in a month and battery will die + phone will heat up like stove.
Most “Bitcoin miner” apps on Play Store are either:

Fake (just show fake balance)
Using your phone for some other crypto or ad network
Straight scam

If you still want to try for learning, you can use something like this basic CPU miner concept in Node:
const crypto = require('crypto');

function mineBlock(previousHash, data, difficulty) {
 let nonce = 0;
 let hash = '';
 const target = '0'.repeat(difficulty);

 while (!hash.startsWith(target)) {
 nonce++;
 hash = crypto.createHash('sha256')
 .update(previousHash + data + nonce)
 .digest('hex');
 }
 return { nonce, hash };
}

// Example
const result = mineBlock('0000abc...', 'Rahul transaction', 4);
console.log(result);

Same phase I went through last year 😅
I even made a small React Native app that was “mining”. After 1 week of testing I realised:

Battery drain is crazy
Heat is dangerous for phone
Actual reward is almost zero
Google will ban the app if they detect continuous background mining

Better idea if you want crypto related app:

Portfolio tracker
Price alert app
Simple wallet (using existing APIs)
Cloud mining calculator (show people how much they will lose)

Don’t waste time on actual mining on mobile.

Real talk:
Bitcoin network difficulty is so high that even a high-end gaming laptop mines almost nothing. Mobile is joke.
If you want to show something working for demo purpose, you can connect to a mining pool using stratum protocol, but again reward will be dust.
Some people use libraries like:
# very basic example using hashlib (not real mining)
import hashlib
import time

def mine(data, difficulty):
 nonce = 0
 while True:
 text = f"{data}{nonce}"
 hash_result = hashlib.sha256(text.encode()).hexdigest()
 if hash_result.startswith('0' * difficulty):
 return nonce, hash_result
 nonce += 1

start = time.time()
nonce, hash_val = mine("test block", 5)
print(f"Found: {nonce} | Hash: {hash_val}")
print(f"Time taken: {time.time() - start:.2f}s")

I built one such app in 2023 for fun. Result:

15 days continuous mining on Redmi Note → earned 0.0000023 BTC (worth almost nothing)
Phone battery health dropped from 95% to 82%
User reviews started saying “app is heating phone”

After that I changed the app to just show live Bitcoin price + fake “mining speed” for entertainment. Removed actual mining.
If your goal is money, this path is dead. If goal is learning blockchain, then okay for 1-2 weeks max.

Honest suggestion:
Instead of mining app, make a “Mining Calculator + Cloud Mining Review” app. People search a lot for that.
Or make a simple educational app that explains how Bitcoin mining works with the code samples people shared above.
Actual mining apps on mobile are mostly banned or rejected by Play Store now. Apple never allows such things.
Also be careful — many “free Bitcoin mining” apps are malware or steal user data.

+1 to everyone.
Rahul, if you still want to experiment:

Use the proof-of-work code shared above for learning
Don’t put real mining in production app
If you want real crypto income related app, better look at trading bots, portfolio apps, or airdrop trackers

Mobile Bitcoin mining is finished chapter long back. Difficulty is too high now.
All the best. Update us if you decide something else!
