This is an important thread and I'd add that the EU AI Act, which entered full enforcement in August 2025, classifies certain logistics AI systems as high-risk — specifically those that make binding decisions affecting employment conditions or access to essential services. If you're operating in the EU or processing data of EU residents, your route optimization and driver scoring systems may now be subject to mandatory conformity assessments, bias audits, and human oversight requirements. The Act's Article 13 transparency obligations also mean drivers have a right to an explanation of how their performance scores are calculated. Many logistics platforms are not ready for this.
