Teams using ChatGPT Work or the API can now point Astra at the same apps people use every day, even ones without APIs. It plans multi-step jobs, writes and debugs code, builds dashboards and finishes complex desktop tasks faster than GPT-5.6 Sol. OpenAI trained it on more than 100,000 GPUs and claims big gains in speed and accuracy while cutting unintended actions. Pricing starts at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
Access is rolling out first to select organizations and cybersecurity partners, then to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users plus the OpenAI API, Azure and AWS Bedrock. Some researchers are already flagging that Astra’s deeper reasoning is harder to monitor than earlier models, which raises fresh safety questions even as OpenAI pushes the AGI narrative hard.
